2020 NFL Draft: 7-Round Post-Combine mock draft for the Rams

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Round 6, Pick 179: Justin Strnad (LB, Wake Forest)

As previously mentioned, there’s a chance that the Rams lose both Fowler and Littleton in free agency. Of the two, Littleton has been arguably the most valuable player — not named Aaron Donald — on Los Angeles’ defense over the past two seasons.

In just the last two seasons, Littleton has led the team in tackles and continues to have an uncanny ability to succeed in coverage as an inside linebacker. Regardless of whether or not the Rams retain Littleton, inside linebacker is a position of need for them.

With this year’s draft being deep at multiple positions, some linebackers may begin coming off of the board in the latter parts of the draft. If he’s still available, Justin Strnad out of Wake Forest would be a home-run selection for Los Angeles.

The only thing that could prevent Strnad from going earlier in the draft is the season-ending biceps injury he suffered in 2019. Prior to the injury, Strnad led the team in tackles with 69 of them. Plus, he flashed upside in coverage as he had one interception and four deflections.
