Round 4, Pick 126: Zack Moss (RB, Utah)
Sadly, the Rams misplayed the situation involving Gurley, making his release inevitable. Upon Gurley’s departure, Los Angeles is excited to carve out a more prominent role for Darrell Henderson.
In last year’s draft, the Rams traded up to select Henderson in the third round. Due to injuries and other occurrences, Henderson wasn’t able to receive much playing time in 2019. That doesn’t mean he isn’t fit for a starting gig next season.
Ahead of the draft, McVay and the Rams have met with a slew of running backs. Therefore, all signs point toward Los Angeles using one of their seven draft picks on a running back. Rather than using an early-round pick on one, the Rams should consider taking Zack Moss on day three.
Moss saved his best for last in 2019, galloping for 1,416 yards and 15 touchdowns for Utah. Compared to Henderson, Moss is more of a downhill runner, who does bring some wiggle in his running style. A one-two punch of Henderson and Moss would be a nice way to replace Gurley’s production.
