AJ Green, Cincinnati Bengals

The 2021 NFL Free Agency class is saturated with quality star receivers. Players like Allen Robinson, Keenan Allen, and Chris Godwin are all due for massive pay-days. However, because of his age, longtime veteran AJ Green may suffer from this saturated receiver market.

It is highly likely that Green opts to take a pay-cut in order to play for a contender. The Vikings could be a perfect landing spot for Green.

Although the Vikings used a first-round pick on wide receiver Justin Jefferson, the Vikings still lack depth at the position. Jefferson and AJ Green both have very similar playing styles. While Green is taller, they both do a very good job of stretching the field and can win jump ball situations.

Having AJ Green and Adam Thielen as mentors would help Jefferson grow as a receiver. Adding Green would also give the Vikings another playmaker who could play out wide or in the slot.

AJ Green would fit the Vikings’ system like a glove. Kirk Cousins is like a much more consistent version of Andy Dalton, who Green found success with throughout his career. Green is at his best when he is stretching the field and going deep. Cousins can throw a very pretty deep ball.

In the Vikings’ Week 6 victory last season, Cousins truly put that big arm on display. Check out some of his best throws in this NFL highlight.
