Melvin Ingram, Los Angeles Chargers

With the Chargers locking up defensive end Joey Bosa for the future, and many other young Chargers looking for contracts, Melvin Ingram’s time in Los Angeles is likely over. The Vikings could be losing longtime defensive end Everson Griffen. It is very possible they look to add another veteran defensive end to help aid their pass rush.

Although the Vikings have a solid pass rusher already with Danielle Hunter and Ifeadi Obenigbo, teams can never have too many pass-rushers. Adding Melvin Ingram makes a lot of sense for the Vikings.

While there are younger pass rush options like Yannick Ngakoue and Jadeveon Clowney, Ingram won’t break the bank. While he may be older, Ingram still has quality football in him.

The Vikings’ defense has always been very good at getting to the quarterback. Head Coach Mike Zimmer has done well getting the best out of all his players on defense.

The situation for Ingram would be perfect because he would serve a bit more of a rotational role instead of being the primary pass-rusher. This would ensure Ingram stays fresh, healthy, and ensure he gives quality reps on each play.
