Dalvin Cook is entering the 2020 NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings primed to have yet another huge season. After a big-time 2019 season, the former Florida State standout is ready to prove his worth even more in the final year of his contract.
Looking ahead to the 2021 NFL free agency period, Cook will join a plethora of other big name backs on the market. Among those other names are Alvin Kamara, Todd Gurley, Aaron Jones, Joe Mixon, James Conner, and Leonard Fournette.
During the 2019 season for the Vikings, Cook ended up being the workhorse for the offense. He racked up 1,135 yards and 13 touchdowns on 250 carries. Cook also caught 53 passes for 519 yards.
At 24 years old, Cook would be worth paying next offseason. It’s always a risk to pay big money to a running back. Just ask the Los Angeles Rams, who ended up releasing Todd Gurley after paying him big bucks.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at four teams who should already be planning to pursue Dalvin Cook next offseason in free agency.
