The Kansas City Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl champs and they are going to be returning 20 of their 22 starters from 2019. While that is good news for the offense, that isn’t necessarily the greatest of news for Kansas City’s secondary.
Last season, the Chiefs deployed a cornerback group that featured Bashaud Breeland, Charvarius Ward, and Kendall Fuller. With Fuller leaving in free agency, the Chiefs are left with uncertainty at cornerback.
Seeing that the Chiefs are limited in cap space, they’ll have to address the secondary in the 2020 NFL Draft. Even after restructuring Sammy Watkins’ contract, Kansas is left with under $10 million in cap space, leaving them with barely enough money to pay their incoming rookies.
Luckily for the Kansas City, they’ll have a handful of options with the 32nd overall pick (if they don’t trade out of the first round). In light of that, let’s take a look at three cornerbacks the Chiefs could target with the No. 32 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
