3 cornerbacks the Jaguars should still target in free agency

Prince Amukamara

As of this moment, the three starting cornerbacks for the Jaguars are Tre Herndon, D.J. Hayden, and Brandon Watson. Taking that into consideration, it’s evident that Jacksonville could use a boost in the secondary.

Even though he’s turning 31 years old later this year, Prince Amukamara would be a decent addition to the Jaguars. After beginning his career with the New York Giants, Amukamara has spent the past three seasons with the Chicago Bears.

Though, before joining the Bears in 2017, Amukamara actually spent the 2016 season with the Jaguars. On account of that, Amukamara is familiar with defensive coordinator Todd Wash — who became the team’s defensive coordinator in 2016.

Just two seasons ago, Amukamara was able to record 66 tackles, 12 pass breakups, three interceptions, and a touchdown with the Bears. If he can produce anywhere close to those numbers next season, the Jaguars should be interested in bringing back Amukamara in 2020.
