3 cornerbacks the Jaguars should still target in free agency

Besides finding a veteran, the Jaguars are going to have to make sure they sign someone that isn’t going to be a drastic cap hit. In that case, that likely rules out Logan Ryan as a possible candidate to sign with Jacksonville this offseason.

Besides Amukamara, another cost-effective veteran that would make sense in free agency for the Jaguars is Ross Cockrell. Cockrell, who started his career with the Buffalo Bills, has been on four different teams in his five years in the NFL.

His longest stint came with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2015-2016, starting in 23 games in that span. But over the past two seasons, he’s played pretty well for the Giants and the Carolina Panthers.

Just this past season with the Panthers, Cockrell allowed 37 receptions on 67 targets while also corraling two interceptions. Although he may not be a shutdown cornerback, Cockrell is a solid corner that would give the Jaguars an upgrade in the secondary.
