Will Set Single-Season Career-High in Sacks
One of the more underrated elements to the impact Darius Leonard provides the Colts is his ability to get to the quarterback. He has totaled 12 sacks through his two seasons in the NFL.
With DeForest Buckner and Justin Houston likely to be the focus of the opposing team’s pass blocking, other pass rushers could capitalize. A prime candidate for this is Leonard and he will set his single-season career-high for sacks as a result.
The most for sacks that Leonard has recorded within the same season was seven in 2018. He followed that up with five sacks during the 2019 season mostly because he participated in two fewer games.
Managing to receive a strong impact from Leonard has become an expectation for the Colts. His ability to disrupt offenses through as a pass rusher should be no different.
