Will Lead the NFL in Tackles
It has become abundantly clear that Darius Leonard is one of the NFL’s most productive tackling machines. For reference, he totaled 284 career tackles during 28 regular-season appearances.
As long as Leonard doesn’t suffer an injury that makes him miss significant time, there’s little reason to believe he won’t rack up an impressive number of tackles. If he plays the full season, he’ll not only exceed 150 combined tackles but will lead the NFL in tackles altogether.
Something to remember, Leonard managed to lead the league in both combined tackles (163) and solo tackles (111) during his rookie campaign. He only made 15 appearances during that season.
The leader in tackles in 2019 was Bobby Wagner with 159. Basically, the total Leonard managed to record in 2018 was slightly greater than the amount Wagner achieved as the league-leader last season.
