3 early bold predictions for new Colts QB Philip Rivers

Philip Rivers entered free agency looking for a fresh start after a long and successful tenure with the Los Angeles Chargers. When the offseason began, the Indianapolis Colts were mentioned as the most likely suitor. The two sides ended up coming together on a one-year, $25 million contract.

Both sides needed each other this offseason. Indianapolis desperately needed to upgrade the quarterback position and Rivers needed a fresh start with familiarity. Due to the presence of Frank Reich and Nick Sirianni, Rivers has that familiarity in what is expected to be a shortened offseason due to the coronavirus.

Last season with the Chargers, Rivers ended up completing 66 percent of his pass attempts for 4,615 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions. Fans saw the interception numbers and immediately jumped to regression because of age. However, his numbers were actually very solid and they should rise with a much better offensive line with the Colts.

Let’s take a look at three way-too-early bold predictions for Rivers with the Colts in 2020.
