3 early expectations for Chase Claypool with the Steelers in 2020

Claypool will be an immediate red-zone option

The Steelers have had an abundance of talented wide receivers over the years, but Claypool is the prototype of receiver they haven’t had in quite some time. Standing at 6-foot-4, nearly 240 pounds, Claypool is a big-bodied receiver that isn’t afraid to get physical with defenders when he is required to.

At the same time, Claypool is faster than he looks, having the ability to create separation on his routes. Claypool’s unique blend of size and speed should make him a viable red-zone target for Roethlisberger once he steps foot on the field.

Of course, Claypool is going to be utilized as more than just a red-zone option in Pittsburgh’s aerial attack. The addition of Claypool should help the Steelers return to being closer to the No. 1 red-zone offense they had in 2018, rather than the 32nd ranked red-zone offense they boasted in 2019.
