3 early expectations for Laviska Shenault with the Jaguars in 2020

Shenault could spend some time on special teams

Again, Shenault may have been selected early in the second round, but that doesn’t assure he’ll immediately be a fixture in Jacksonville’s offense. With a crowded receiving corps, to get the ball in his hands as much as possible, the Jaguars could have Shenault serve as the team’s kick/punt returner.

Despite his ability to create chunk plays with the ball in his hands, Shenault surprisingly didn’t see much time on special teams at Colorado. Though, in his one and only kick return in college, Shenault was able to garner 54 yards.

Of course, the Jaguars are going to have Shenault gradually get more and more involved in the team’s offensive gameplan. But while he’s adjusting to the offense, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see him earn his stripes on special teams first.
