The Philadelphia Eagles came into the 2020 NFL offseason looking to make a couple big moves. While they may not have been one of the busiest players in free agency, they did make a big-time move with the trade to acquire star cornerback Darius Slay from the Detroit Lions.
One of the biggest area of need last season for the Eagles was at cornerback. They didn’t have a lockdown No. 1 cornerback. That changed the second they made the move to acquire Slay.
Last season with the Lions, Slay went through a roller coaster of emotions. It was clear that he did not have a good relationship with head coach Matt Patricia. He still was one of the better cornerbacks in the NFC in the 14 games he did play in.
During those 14 games, Slay was able to rack up 46 total tackles to go along with one fumble recovery, two interceptions, and 13 defended passes. Those numbers show the ability that Slay will bring to the field for the Eagles.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at three early predictions for Slay with his new team in 2020.
