3 early targets for the Panthers at No. 38 in the 2020 NFL Draft

Troy Dye, Linebacker, Oregon

Next up, the Panthers could look to help fill the void that Luke Kuechly’s retirement has left. Kuechly has been one of the NFL’s top linebackers since coming into the league. He will be missed and the defense will take a step back without him on the field.

Troy Dye is an intriguing second-round target for the Panthers. He ended the 2019 season with the Ducks totaling 84 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two interceptions, and four defended passes. Carolina needs a linebacker capable of making sure tackles and also dropping back into coverage.

Carolina cannot afford to pass up on a talent like Dye. If he’s available, they need to strongly consider bringing him on board unless there is a clearly better talent than him on the board.
