Jadeveon Clowney
Ahead of free agency, Jadeveon Clowney was expected to be a coveted player by a handful of teams. However, the former No. 1 pick is seeking to become one of the highest-paid defensive players in the NFL.
Due to his steep asking price, teams have strayed away from pursuing him in free agency. With that being said, the Jets should pounce on the opportunity to sign him for a bit cheaper than he was expecting to get.
Following a trade from the Houston Texans last offseason, Clowney spent the 2019 campaign with the Seattle Seahawks. Despite having just three sacks this past season, Clowney still made his presence felt in the run game. In addition, he also had three forced fumbles and a pick-six.
After failing to get the deal he wants in free agency, it appears that Clowney is likely to return to the Seahawks on a one-year deal. Although that may be true, it wouldn’t hurt for the Jets to pursue the freakish edge defender. Pairing Quinnen Williams with Clowney on the defensive front would be an ideal scenario for New York.
