3 free agent tight ends the Steelers should consider signing

2. Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts

There is almost certainly no chance the Colts will be keeping Eric Ebron. He was unhappy with his role in Frank Reich’s offense following his major breakout season in 2018. With Jack Doyle’s return in 2019, the Colts went away from Ebron.

Despite his unhappiness in Indianapolis, Ebron showed teams like the Steelers that he can be a star. In 2018, he caught 66 passes for 750 yards and 13 touchdowns. Last year, he caught just 31 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns.

Ebron has always struggled with drops throughout his NFL career. The Steelers should not let that scare them away. He would thrive in a system like Pittsburgh’s and could be a massive weapon for Roethlisberger.
