3 goals for Panthers QB Cam Newton this offseason

Have an open mind about a new offensive system

With a non-zero percent chance of Cam Newton being traded this offseason, it’s important he keeps an open mind about playing in a new offensive system. Especially when considering he’s not going to get to choose his next team if the Panthers were to go that route.

Even if the Panthers were to hang onto Newton for at least the 2020 season, their offensive system will change after parting ways with Ron Rivera. Having Matt Rhule and Joe Brady in the fold will almost certainly end up changing a lot about Carolina’s offense.

With the talent Newton possesses, he can be quite effective in a variety of different offensive philosophies. He will need to be careful about taking off and running quite as often for a durability purposes. Embracing his team’s offensive system could help alleviate the need to do it.
