3. Pittsburgh Steelers
Coming into the NFL offseason, many thought the Steelers would be a team to keep an eye on for some of the top pass rushers in free agency. They were connected to names like Dante Fowler Jr. and possibly Robert Quinn. However, they chose to pass on signing those guys.
Clay Matthews would be an excellent fallback option for the Steelers. Pairing him with T.J. Watt would make a lot of sense, especially for the price that it would take.
Pittsburgh would not have to break the bank to sign Matthews. They could ink him to a one or two-year deal and beef up their defense for one more run with Ben Roethlisberger leading the way. Mike Tomlin and company would offer Matthews the kind of hard-nosed system that he needs and a chance to compete for a playoff spot.
