1. Green Bay Packers
A reunion between Clay Matthews and the Packers would make the most sense of any possible landing spot. Matthews took to Twitter to share his resume last week and he even mentioned that he has experience playing inside linebacker. Even though the Packers already signed Christian Kirksey, they could still use another inside linebacker.
Matthews heading back to the Packers would make the fans happy and it would be returning to a place he knows. He has had major success and could pick up where he left off.
Mike Pettine would utilize Matthews in quite a few different ways. He would play inside linebacker, but would be used as a pass rusher quite often. A trio of Preston Smith, Za’Darius Smith, and Matthews would be tough to stop.
Green Bay may not end up looking to make this happen, but Matthews would make a lot of sense for them at the price tag he likely has.
