3 ideal targets for the Vikings at No. 22 overall in the NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings have lost some key players in the offseason to free agency. They will need to look to add more pieces to their core to maximize their long-term success and the No. 22 pick will be crucial to that.

Perhaps the most notable of the Vikings’ departures is Stefon Diggs. Minnesota already needed to add more receiver talent to their supporting cast alongside Adam Thielen. That becomes an even more pressing need after trading away Diggs.

Having to move on from a player like Xavier Rhodes certainly doesn’t help either. He went from being one of the league’s top shutdown corners to being released for salary cap purposes. Being in the same division as Aaron Rodgers, it’s vital to have impactful corners.

With the salary cap landscape the Vikings are dealing with, it’s especially important they are able to make the right selections in the NFL Draft. They will need those players to be able to provide an impact on cheap deals to maintain their ability to compete at a high-level as a team.

With that being said, there are three prospects that stand out as ideal fits for the Vikings with the No. 22 overall pick.
