Jeff Gladney
Besides wide receiver, the Vikings also need to make a concerted effort to add some cornerbacks this offseason. So far in free agency, Minnesota released Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes is signing with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Also, Mackensie Alexander could choose to join Waynes by departing in free agency. With that in mind, the Vikings could be in a perfect position to select a cornerback with the No. 22 pick.
One cornerback that has gone somewhat under-the-radar in the draft process is Jeff Gladney out of TCU. After redshirting his freshman year in college to rehab a knee injury, Gladney put together four productive seasons at TCU.
Over the course of his four collegiate seasons, Gladney accumulated 146 tackles, five interceptions, and 37 deflections. Aside from his impressive numbers, Gladney excels in man coverage, giving Mike Zimmer a No. 1 corner for years to come.
