The Offense Looked Very Efficient
While many are looking at Trevor Lawrence to be the future of Jacksonville, Garnder Minshew came out with a strong statement early in the season. Minshew and the Jaguars passing attack was incredibly efficient. While he did not have huge numbers passing yards wise, he was very methodical.
Minshew only threw one incomplete pass throughout the entire game. This was a clear statement that he has was it takes to lead this Jaguars team. This was the exact type of game he needed, and so far he is responding well to the negative backlash.
The Jaguars’ running game was also very solid. The offensive line did a good job opening up holes for rookie back James Robinson. Although he didn’t have any monster breakout runs, Jacksonville fans cans rest easy knowing they have a capable back in the backfield. So far, the Jaguars’ offense has a lot to build around. This has been the best the offense has looked in a very long time.
Although the offense shows promise, obviously they are not perfect. The biggest issue I saw was they still have issues on the offensive line. Cam Robinson got burnt off the edge by veteran Justin Houston. There were some instances where the Colts’ defensive line stuffed Robinson at the line. If there is any area of improvement it would have to be up front.
