The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a tough Week 1 loss to the division-rival Green Bay Packers. While it is a very long season, this was a tough loss for Minnesota.

The Vikings were much better in the second half of the game. However, much of that was due to the offense’s lack of opportunities in the first half. Minnesota came into this game with hopes of a Super Bowl run. However, they must improve tremendously if they want to even make the playoffs.

While it is only the first week, the most disappointing thing was how poor this Vikings’ defense was. They had little to no pressure on Aaron Rodgers, which gave the Packers’ receivers time to get open. The secondary had issues with Devante Adams, which was not surprising. However, Allen Lazard also had some phenomenal plays. This entire defensive unit must play better in the future.

On the offensive side of the football, it was obviously very frustrating. Kirk Cousins thew only 6 passes in the first half. While in the second half Cousins and company were able to get rolling a bit more, much of that was in garbage time. If the Vikings want to truly contend they have to start games better offensively.

With that being said, here are three instant reactions to the Minnesota Vikings’ Week 1 loss against the Green Bay Packers.
