Green Bay Packers Target No. 2 — Jarvis Landry, WR, Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns seem like they are not budging on an Odell Beckham Jr. trade. However, the offense has been in a bit of a standstill. If they aren’t trading Beckham Jr. then they may be willing to trade Jarvis Landry.
Landry had a solid first two seasons in Cleveland but has been an almost non-factor so far this year. He’s still a valuable receiver and the Browns may be able to get something in return for him.
While he’s having trouble fitting in with Cleveland so far this year, he should fit right in with Green Bay. Landry is an excellent route runner, has very sure hands, and is the type of go-to receiver that would complement Davante Adams very well.
Landry is also a great slot receiver, which means Allen Lazard would still be able to grow as a receiver and would still contribute a lot to the offense when healthy.
The Browns are not doing a very good job capitalizing on the weapons on their team. Landry doesn’t fit the scheme for Cleveland. They’d be able to get a solid draft pick for Landry and draft a player who better fits the scheme. The Packers are in win-now mode, losing a draft pick won’t matter much if Green Bay is able to win a Super Bowl now.
