Cam Newton has gone through a crazy offseason, even more than most players with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing major changes. After being released by the Carolina Panthers, it took some time for Newton to find a new home. However, the New England Patriots swooped in to sign him.
Following his release from the Panthers, it was widely expected that Newton would end up with the Patriots. Tom Brady left town in free agency to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That left New England with Jarrett Stidham as their starter.
Granted, the Patriots are very high on Stidham and he is still in contention to win the starting job. Some believe he will actually begin the 2020 season as the starter in New England.
However, Newton is on the comeback trail and has more motivation than ever. The way he was discarded by the Panthers does not sit well with him. There are some injury concerns surrounding Newton, but the Patriots are expecting him to bounce back strong.
All of that being said, let’s take a look at a few numbers that the Patriots and fans should be expecting from Cam Newton in 2020.
