Trae Waynes, Minnesota Vikings

Finally, there is another impending free agent cornerback that could make a lot of sense for the Redskins to pursue. Trae Waynes has played for the Vikings in all five seasons of his NFL career thus far. It seems likely that he will be playing elsewhere in 2020.

Waynes had a solid 2019 campaign in Minnesota, recording 58 tackles to go along with two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, an interception, and eight defended passes. Washington should be able to afford Waynes should they choose to pursue him.

At 27 years old, the Redskins would be getting an instant impact player for the present and the future. They should be wary of offering him a four-year deal, but two or three years would be perfect. Waynes could be exactly the missing piece that the Redskins’ defense has been searching for.
