3 Perfect Offensive Targets For The Buffalo Bills This Offseason

Jordan Howard

The Buffalo Bills have officially passed the rushing attack to the young legs of Devin Singletary. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t use a little help. Winning in this league is not done with a single back anymore. While players like Ezekiel Elliott, Leonard Fournette, and Dalvin Cook are extraordinary, did their regular-season success lead them to the Super Bowl?

In fact, when was the last time a NFL leading rusher won the Super Bowl? By the time the seasons gets to the playoffs, those single-back teams will head into the game tired and limping. But those with two backs are refreshed. It takes a total team effort by those running backs to give up stats for winning. The Bills appear to be one of those teams. While Singletary is young, having a player split time with him like Jordon Howard is a wise decision.

Last season, while with the Philadelphia Eagles, Howard rushed for 525 yards on 119 attempts and scored six touchdowns. Not the stats the Eagles were looking for but due to injuries, the Eagles found success with other players making Howard expendable.

With Frank Gore surely gone, there’s no one the Bills can rely on to split that time. Howard should come in pretty cheap as he took home $2M in 2019. Last season, Singletary rushed the ball 151 times with an average of 5.1 yards per attempt. With his speed around the edges and Howard’s force up the middle, this pairing will keep defenses honest.
