3 perfect options for the New Orleans Saints at No. 24 overall in the NFL Draft

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

Laviska Shenault

Of the receivers available in the 2020 NFL Draft, there might not be another receiver that would be more exciting to watch in Sean Payton’s offense than Laviska Shenault. Standing at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Shenault is an extremely physical option at the wide receiver position.

Throughout his time at Colorado, Shenault was used in a variety of ways. One play he would line out wide and catch a screen pass. On the very next play, he could be taking a handoff. Besides scoring 10 receiving touchdowns in the last two seasons, he’s also found the end zone seven times as a runner.

It is important to note that Shenault recently underwent surgery on a core injury that hindered him in 2019. But the imposing receiver should be cleared before April’s draft.

In the event that Shenault’s medicals check out, the Saints should look to insert him into their offense. Could you imagine the plays that Payton could draw up with Shenault at his disposal?
