Laviska Shenault
It shouldn’t need to be explained why the Patriots could be in the market for a receiver — or receivers — this offseason. In last year’s draft, New England selected N’Heal Harry with the 32nd overall pick.
Despite being selected in the first round, Harry saw an inconsistent role in New England’s offense in 2019. Even if Harry improves in his second season, the Patriots need to add another receiver on the outside.
Of the receivers they could possibly choose from, Laviska Shenault would be a perfect fit for Josh McDaniels’ offense. If you watched how the San Francisco 49ers utilized Deebo Samuel in 2019, that is exactly how Shenault can be used at the next level.
Over the course of his final two seasons, Shenault produced 142 receptions for 1,775 yards and 10 touchdowns through the air. Also, he flashed his potential as a runner with 276 yards and seven rushing touchdowns from 2018-2019.
Of course, it will be important for the Patriots to monitor Sheanult’s core injury that he underwent surgery on in the past week. If he’s deemed healthy in time for the draft, Shenault should absolutely be someone on New England’s radar.
