Again, it is an absolute priority for the Patriots to add receivers this offseason. Whether it be through the draft or free agency, New England has to make it happen.

This past week, the NFL Combine took place in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. Among the wide receivers, not many of them improved their draft stock as much as Justin Jefferson did.

Heading into the draft, Jefferson was already regarded as a borderline first-round pick. But after a dominant combine performance, Jefferson is going to be taken in the first round.

In a perfect world for the Patriots, Jefferson somehow falls to them at No. 23. To end his career at LSU, Jefferson amassed 111 receptions for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2019.

Above all, Jefferson is a versatile receiver than played the vast majority of his snaps out of the slot. However, there’s nothing that Jefferson has shown that says he isn’t capable of working on the outside. Adding a polished route runner and playmaker like Jefferson would be the ideal scenario for the Patriots in the first round.
