3 perfect targets for the Cowboys’ defense in free agency

2. Gerald McCoy, Defensive Tackle, Carolina Panthers

Granted, this move would cost the Cowboys a lot more than they may have the ability to pay. Gerald McCoy is still a star defensive tackle, but he would be a huge addition for the front line of the Dallas defense.

In 2019 with the Carolina Panthers, McCoy ended up recording 37 total tackles to go along with five sacks and two defended passes. His numbers dipped a bit from his superstar days with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, McCoy is still a big-time presence for a defense.

Dallas could get a bit of a discount on McCoy due to his lower numbers in 2019. If they can get him at the right price, Jerry Jones should jump at this opportunity.
