3 perfect targets for the Cowboys’ defense in free agency

1. Eric Berry, Safety, Free Agent

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Cowboys need to find an upgrade at the safety position. They looked for one last offseason in free agency and they tried to acquire star safety Jamal Adams from the New York Jets at the NFL trade deadline. Now, they could find their man in free agent safety Eric Berry.

Berry chose to sit out the 2019 season to focus on getting his body and mind right for 2020. He has struggled with injuries over the last few seasons and even had a bout with cancer that he defeated.

Dallas needs to swing for the fences this offseason and Berry would be the definition of doing that. He may be viewed as a risk, but he is a superstar when healthy. If the Cowboys sign Berry and he plays up to his talent, they will be getting a star that would change everything on the back-end of their defense.
