Davon Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
Having a strong line on both sides of the ball is a crucial element in constructing a successful team. For the Vikings, continuing to look to make impactful additions on the defensive line by adding a prospect from the NFL Draft like Davon Hamilton out of Ohio State would help.
Last season, Hamilton recorded 28 combined tackles (9.5 for loss), 6.0 sacks, and 1.0 fumble recovery. He isn’t considered as being one of the elite defensive line prospects in this year’s class, but he has more than enough reason for intrigue.
Hamilton stands at 6-feet, 4-inches and weighs 320 pounds with 33″ arms and 9 3/4″ hands. He recorded a 5.14 unofficial 40-yard dash, a 7.72 three-cone drill, 33 reps on the bench press, a 29.5″ vertical jump, and a 102.0″ broad jump at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Many project Hamilton as being a capable contributor from day one in a rotational role while possessing long-term potential as a starting-caliber player. There are some improvements to be made in his pass-rushing technique, but overall, he would be a solid addition.
