Last season, the Washington Football Team ended up winning the NFC East division. It wasn’t a huge thing to get amped up about, as every team in the division struggled all season long. However, they still won the division and they deserve some props for making it into the NFL Playoffs.

Now, they will have to tackle a much more difficult task. In a division that saw every team get better throughout the offseason, they will have to take another step in their rebuilding process and try to win with teams at full health.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is the new starting quarterback for the Football Team and brings with him a ton of experience and leadership. He has a great, young supporting cast around him offensively. On the defensive side of the football, the Washington Football Team has stacked up a ton of great talent and have the potential to be a top defense.

All of that being said, let’s jump in and take a look at three players who are primed for a breakout season with the Washington Football Team in 2021.

3. Antonio Gibson, Running Back

Let’s make it clear that we are not saying that Gibson had a poor season in 2020. He was a major bright spot for the offense and proved that he can be a full-time starter in the NFL. But, he is primed to put up even bigger numbers this season.

Gibson carried the rock 170 times for 795 yards and 11 touchdowns last year as a rookie for the Football Team. He also racked up 36 receptions for 247 yards through the air.

This season, we are predicting that Gibson will rush for over 1,000 yards and will score 13 touchdowns. He will also catch 42 passes for 275 yards and another touchdown or two. Gibson is going to be a monster this season for Washington and it’s going to be fun watching him produce at such a high level.

2. Curtis Samuel, Wide Receiver

The big splash that the Washington Football Team made this offseason was the move to sign wide receiver Curtis Samuel in NFL free agency. Samuel is coming off of a good season with the Carolina Panthers and improved his value dramatically entering free agency. He caught 77 passes for 851 yards and three touchdowns last season, while also rushing for 200 yards and two touchdowns on 41 carries.

He’s back with Ron Rivera, who coached him in Carolina, and will be the team’s No. 2 wideout. Samuel is going to put up a much bigger season in a full-time starting role for the Football Team.

We are predicting that Samuel will rack up at least 90 receptions for 1,050 yards and seven touchdowns. He will be a gadget guy as well and should put up decent numbers on the ground again. Samuel is going to be a huge part of the Football Team’s offensive success and will be a perfect compliment to Terry McLaurin at wide receiver.

1. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Quarterback

Did you really think that we would leave “FitzMagic” off of this list? Even though he is 38 years old and has a ton of NFL experience, we are predicting a breakout season for him.

Fitzpatrick is finally entering a situation where a young first-round pick is not waiting to take over for him. He played well for the Miami Dolphins last season, completing 68.5 percent of his pass attempts for 2,091 yards, 13 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Despite his solid play, the Dolphins chose to bench him in favor of Tua Tagovailoa, which was an expected outcome.

As the full-time starter for the Washington Football Team, Fitzpatrick is going to find success. He will complete around 65 percent of his passes for 3,500 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Washington will start him the entire season and his production might just be enough to get them into the playoffs.
