O.J. Howard, Tight End, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Leading up to the NFL trade deadline, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were rumored to be open to dealing young tight end O.J. Howard. While they didn’t end up pulling the trigger on a deal, that doesn’t mean that they won’t be open to calls this offseason.
Pittsburgh could use an upgrade at the tight end position and Howard would be an ideal target. He hasn’t produced well in Tampa Bay, but a change of scenery could do him good. Playing with a quarterback like Ben Roethlisberger instead of Jameis Winston could be good for him as well.
Last season with the Buccaneers, Howard caught 34 passes for 459 yards and one touchdown. Those numbers don’t pop off the charts, but they could rise significantly in the Pittsburgh offense.
