3. A.J. Klein
When free agency gets underway, the Saints are going to have to decipher what to do at linebacker. Altogether, New Orleans will have four linebackers become unrestricted free agents in March.
Among the linebackers who will be available, A.J. Klein is arguably the most important. After spending four seasons with the Carolina Panthers, Klein has had a decent three-year run with the Saints.
During his three-year stay in New Orleans, Klein has accumulated 191 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and two interceptions. Despite his contributions, the Saints have other linebackers on the roster that could replace him.
Next season, Alex Anzalone will return from injured reserve and Stephone Anthony could be re-signed for a cheaper price than Klein. With the Saints lacking in cap space, Klein is likely headed elsewhere in 2020.
