3 players the Steelers could target at No. 49 in the 2020 NFL Draft

Davon Hamilton

Given their cap situation, the Steelers essentially had to choose between keeping Dupree or Javon Hargrave on defense. Of course, by tagging him, Pittsburgh sided with Dupree and allowed Hargrave to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

While Roethlisberger returns to the offense next season, the loss of Hargrave could prove to be costly for the Steelers. Upon being drafted by Pittsburgh in 2016, Hargrave immediately became their starting nose tackle, starting in 52 games in his four seasons with the organization.

For an interior defender, Hargrave was extremely disruptive, garnering 14.5 sacks, 22 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles in four years with the Steelers. In an attempt to replace Hargrave, Pittsburgh could have their sights on selecting Davon Hamilton out of Ohio State.

Hamilton saved his best for last in 2019, tallying six sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss in his senior season for the Buckeyes. As much as the Steelers will miss Hargrave, adding Hamilton would hopefully fill the void at the nose tackle position moving forward.
