3. David Johnson
There’s no doubt that Arians and Byron Leftwich — Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator — were able to turn around the Buccaneers offense. Despite the success they had through the air, the Buccaneers are still missing something on offense.
Everyone knows that Tampa Bay has a talented receiver duo in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. However, the Buccaneers could benefit from adding a dual-threat running back to the backfield.
For Arians, he could turn to his old stomping grounds with the Arizona Cardinals to find his running back. Word around the street is that David Johnson can be had in the form of a trade.
Over the past couple of seasons, injuries have hindered Johnson and he was supplanted by Kenyan Drake on the depth chart in 2019. During Arians’ tenure in Arizona, he was the one who drafted Johnson in 2015 and helped develop him into an All-Pro running back.
Of course, the one roadblock preventing a trade for Johnson is the money that the Buccaneers would have to pay the oft-injured running back. Nevertheless, a reunion of Arians and Johnson would be a much-needed boost in Tampa Bay’s backfield.
