3 players the Vikings should consider trading up for in the NFL Draft

Guard/Tackle, Tristan Wirfs, Iowa

Although the Vikings offensive line blocked well as a whole last season, allowing just 28 sacks on the year, they could still use some help along the interior of the o-line.

Both of the projected starters at the guard positions for Minnesota graded out pretty poorly according to Pro Football Focus. Guard Dakota Dozier was ranked as the 66th best guard in football, while the other starting guard, Pat Elflein, was ranked as the 39th best guard in football last season.

Upgrading that position should be one of the team’s top goals heading into draft night. There are a handful of options, but if they were to trade up for one, it should be for Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs.

Wirfs is a versatile lineman, so he could play either guard position or even fill in as a tackle if need be. Scouts believe he’s a day one starter at the next level, so he would surely slot in right along the Vikings offensive line.
