3 potential defensive targets for the Rams this offseason

2. Danny Shelton

Besides finding an edge defender to replace Fowler, the Rams could benefit from adding a true nose tackle this offseason. For most of the 2019 season, Los Angeles started Sebastian Joseph-Day at nose tackle.

With a need for a stout run defender, the Rams could target an interior lineman like Danny Shelton. Over the past two seasons, Shelton has helped the New England Patriots boast one of the NFL’s best run defenses.

Giving Aaron Donald a formidable nose tackle next to him on the defensive line could pay dividends. Among the cheaper options they have in free agency, Shelton makes a ton of sense.
