3 potential landing landing spots for free agent TE Delanie Walker

New England Patriots

The tight end position is a significant hole for the Patriots right now. It was a need heading into the offseason and it became even more pressing after Benjamin Watson decided to announce his retirement. Adding Delanie Walker as a temporary option would be quite helpful.

With the Patriots seemingly choosing to put their stock in Jarrett Stidham to replace Tom Brady, they will need a veteran tight end to smoothen the adjustment process. Walker has a level of veteran savvy that could benefit New England with Stidham early on.

Even if the Patriots do indeed select a tight end prospect in the NFL Draft, there would still be a need for a veteran solution in free agency. Walker could fill that role for at least the upcoming 2020 season until New England found more long-term answers.
