3 potential landing spots for free agent CB Bashaud Breeland

Atlanta Falcons

There are a lot of holes on the Atlanta Falcons’ defense and the cornerback position is certainly one of them after moving on from Desmond Trufant. While it likely wouldn’t be a long-term solution, signing Bashaud Breeland would at least give them a temporary veteran that can contribute.

The Falcons are frequently projected as taking a cornerback in the NFL Draft like the Dallas Cowboys. For a team that has veterans in their prime like Julio Jones and Matt Ryan, having to rely immediately on a prospect could lead to underwhelming results.

At the very least, signing a cornerback like Breeland and relying on him for the upcoming season would enable the Falcons to still select a corner. It would allow for that prospect to develop while having an easier role on the field.
