Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have one of the more talented rosters in the league and have indicated they are in win-now mode with recent signings of Amari Cooper, Gerald McCoy and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
The team’s number one cornerback Byron Jones tested the free-agent market and snagged a huge payday by the Miami Dolphins. As a result, their cornerback room lacks a superior defender and kicking the tires on Logan Ryan could be a move that puts them over the top in the NFC East.
Currently, the Cowboys have $19.7 million in remaining cap space, per Over The Cap, giving them some leway to add another blue-chip player. Adding someone of Ryan’s caliber into the Dallas’ secondary would once again give them their superior cover corner without having to overload a drastic amount towards one player like it would’ve taken to re-sign Byron Jones.
Since the Cowboys still remain taking Dak Prescott’s contract on a per year basis, I wouldn’t anticipate them throwing a long term deal towards Ryan with Prescott potentially receiving an extension at some point.
However, a one-year contract worth something just north of $10 million is something Ryan has said he’s open to and a figure that Dallas is capable of reaching at this time.
