Tennessee Titans
After making it all the way to the AFC Championship Game, the Tennessee Titans should look to continue to add pieces to their team. It never hurts to add more pass rush help and pursuing Markus Golden would accomplish that.
Similar to the rationale behind why the Ravens should pursue Golden, it’s vital to be able to make Patrick Mahomes as uncomfortable as possible with a layered pass rush. There’s additional reason for the Titans because they have to potentially solve for Lamar Jackson, too.
The Titans tried making a run at Za’Darius Smith last offseason but he ended up signing a four-year deal with the Green Bay Packers. With an overall cost of $66 million for his contract, Tennessee would surely be able to land Golden for a lower cost.
There shouldn’t be much issue with the Titans having room to sign Golden. They have nearly $23.4 million in cap space remaining and that currently ranks 10th in the NFL. It only helps if the deal were to be a temporary contract without significant long-term commitment.
