3 potential safety options for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason

3. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

In a little over a month, the Cowboys will have an opportunity to get a better look at the free-agency options at safety. Most teams in need of a safety are undoubtedly going to target Anthony Harris from the Minnesota Vikings.

However, with Harris likely heading toward a massive payday, it’s likely the Cowboys are out of the sweepstakes. With Harris unlikely considering Dallas, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix could be an interesting option.

Last offseason, Clinton-Dix signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears. In his lone season in Chicago, Clinton-Dix notched 78 tackles, two interceptions, and a touchdown.

After taking a pay cut to join the Bears, Clinton-Dix could be looking for a more lucrative offer in 2020. At the least, Clinton-Dix likely won’t cost as much as Harris would.

Additionally, with the Cowboys hiring Mike McCarthy, Clinton-Dix could choose to reunite with his former coach. McCarthy coached the Alabama product from 2014-2018 with the Green Bay Packers.
