Jalen Hurts, Quarterback, Oklahoma
Finally, the Panthers could bring in a potential long-term quarterback option by taking Jalen Hurts in the early stages of the third round. If they don’t view Newton as their long-term option under center, they could try to find a steal outside of the upper echelon of quarterback prospects.
Hurts put together a Heisman-caliber season in 2019 with the Sooners. He completed 69.7 percent of his pass attempts for 3,851 yards, 32 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. In addition to his passing numbers, Hurts also rushed for 1,298 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Matt Rhule would have a lethal dual-threat quarterback to groom. His offense could use an electrifying playmaker under center. Hurts might just be the future at quarterback in Carolina should they be able to snag him at No. 69 in the NFL Draft.
