3 potential trade targets for the Patriots this offseason

3. Marqise Lee (WR, Jacksonville Jaguars)

In the event that Brady returns to Foxborough for his 21st season, New England isn’t going to have much money to spend elsewhere. Besides the draft, the Patriots could look to target some cost-effective pass-catchers via trade.

Some Patriots fans are going to have a false sense of reality that New England could acquire Odell Beckham Jr. Instead of getting a pricey wideout, someone like Marquise Lee would be a move that could go under the radar.

Lee was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft. In his first four seasons, Lee combined for 171 receptions, 2,166 yards, and eight touchdowns.

Then, over the past two seasons, injuries have prevented him from being effective on the field. The USC product missed the entire 2018 season with a serious knee injury.

With Jacksonville being deep at wide receiver, Lee could likely be had for a mid to late-round draft pick. Above all, he would be a fairly cheap option for the Patriots.
