After pulling off a miraculous late season run to win the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles fell short of reaching the divisional round of the playoffs for the third straight year, losing to the Seattle Seahawks on wildcard weekend.

Many fans will point to Jadeveon Clowney’s late hit on quarterback Carson Wentz as the reason for the Eagles loss. The hit knocked Wentz out of the game in the first quarter with a concussion.

Now that free agency is right around the corner, and with Clowney’s pending free agency also on the horizon, could Philly make a serious play to bring in the Pro Bowl pass rusher? Even after he knocked out their franchise quarterback in Wentz’s first playoff start?

Here are three reasons why they should.

  1. J. Clowney could be a good addition to the front seven. They still need to retain CB J. Mills & add CB Byron Jones, while retaining safeties Rodney McLeod & Malcolm Jenkins.
