Projections for Love have been falling
Of the top four quarterback prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft, Jordan Love is projected as being the fourth to be selected. However, it appears unlikely that he will be available by the time the Packers are on the clock at No. 30. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible they can’t create an opportunity to pick him though.
There are some factors that could contribute to Love likely falling in the order. The Indianapolis Colts were thought as being one of the team’s higher on selecting Love, but after trading the No. 13 selection, there is a significant drop in the next logical landing spot.
While the Colts may no longer be a serious threat to select Love before the Packers are on the clock, there are some other teams that could. The Las Vegas Raiders (No. 19), New England Patriots (No. 23) and New Orleans Saints (No. 24) are teams, in particular, that stand out as possible options to take Love.
If the Packers want to ensure they can select Love, they may have to move up in the draft order to be able to do it. However, a trade up wouldn’t have to be quite as far or require as much compensation with the Colts no longer being a possibility at No. 13.
